Aure valley
Proud of its medieval past, the Aure Valley is the ideal place to discover the heritage of the Pyrenees: visit the UNESCO-certified chapel of the Templars of Aragnouet, admire the remarkable frescos and paintings of the Notre-Dame de Bourisp church and enjoy an unusual family experience at the Mousquère mill in Sailhan... Many other exceptional buildings are to be discovered in the 13 stone villages in the valley. With the spa town of Saint-Lary and its resort easily accessible via two cable cars, high-mountain skiing in Piau-Engaly and the Néouvielle nature reserve, the Aure Valley is now a major tourist region of the French Pyrenees, in both summer and winter. Enjoy many activities for all your sports or well-being desires: rafting, trail, mountain biking, hiking but also thermal cure, massages and hammam! The Aure valley also gives a lot of importance to cycling by regularly hosting the Tour de France, with a fierce battle between climbers at the top of the Col de Portet at 2215m.
